Squash

About Squash ...

Squash is the ball sport played by two or four players four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. The players must alternate in striking the ball with their racquet and hit the ball onto the playable of the four walls of the court.

Standard rackets are governed by the rules of the game. They are now almost always made of composite materials or metals. Modern rackets have maximum dimensions of 686mm long and  215mm width, with a maximum strung are of 500sqcm. The maximum weight is 255g. Squash balls are between 39.5 or 40.5 mm in diameter, and have a weight of 23 to 25 g.

International

  1. Ravindu Laksiri represented the Sri Lankan team for Asian Junior in 2009
  2. Ravindu Laksiri represented the Sri Lankan team for Asian Junior in 2010
  3. Dilshan Sandeepa represented in Malaysia for Milo All Star in 2010
  4. Ravindu Laksiri, Dilshan Sandeepa represented the Sri Lankan team for Asian Junior Team event in 2011
  5. Dilshan Sandeepa is the only Sri Lankan student who represented Sri Lanka in the World Cup (squash) in 2011
  6.  Ravindu Laksiri, W.Shamil, Dilshan Sandeep & L.Navodya represented the Sri Lanka for Asian Junior Individual in 2011
  7. M.W.Shamil won the 3rd place in that tournament.
  8. Ravindu Laksiri , W.Shamil , Dilshan Sandeepa & Janitha Maduranga represented Malaysia for Milo All Star in 2011.
